We are seeking a new Treasurer to oversee our finances. If you have the time, the motivation and the skills to help us make ever bigger strides towards an economy that helps everyone to thrive – now and way into the future – then please read on as we want to hear from you.
Stephen King has come to the end of his three-year term as Treasurer and is stepping down, having provided invaluable financial and governance support throughout his tenure.
Centre for Thriving Places (CTP) has been growing its impact exponentially in recent years. Are you ready to help ensure that success continues in 2024 and way beyond?
CTP’s mission is to shift the dial towards a world where we make what matters count. For 14 years we have been providing exceptional know-how, research, data, tools and practical support to help places grow a thriving wellbeing economy where they are. We support partners to change how policy is made, programmes are designed, services are delivered and people are involved in shaping their local place so that people and the planet can thrive.
We are entering an exciting period of change and growth, building on our current portfolio which includes long term programmes to embed a radically different approach within local and regional UK governments, delivering major research programmes with academic partners, supporting diverse community leaders and organisations to shift power and influence and a working with a large UK land developer to prioritise community thriving.
As we collectively face the complex challenges of climate change, burgeoning poverty and inequality, and a widening scarcity of resources at the local level, – there is a growing recognition that a radically different approach is needed. Our rigorous and practical people-led approach is gaining a national reputation and we are seeking new board members to help us to step up to the challenge of delivering that impact at scale.
There has never been a better opportunity to influence the local and national debate in this, an election year, and so we are looking to grow our Board to support our exceptional team to make the most of the many strategic pathways ahead.

You will have an understanding of the many interconnected ways that change happens at the local level. You will have the professional and personal freedom to be a public advocate for our work. You will have the networks to help us grow our reputation, reach and impact. And you will be driven by values that put outcomes for people and planet before profit and personal gain.

If you would like to apply, please send an Expression of Interest letter to hello@centreforthrivingplaces.org, outlining your interest and suitability for the role, with a link to your LinkedIn profile for more information.
Please make clear in your letter, with reference to the relevant role description: your suitability for the role, your interest in CTP’s mission and work, your alignment with our values, and your availability (time-wise) and freedom to fulfil the role (ie no conflicts of interest).
We are accepting applications at present and will close the advert once a new Treasurer has been identified.
