RORE Extraction Report

RORE’s landmark report, Ending Care Extraction in the UK, reveals that private companies operating care services in just three UK regions have extracted over £250 million in profit, in three years. More than a third of these companies are owned by private equity firms, organisations registered in tax havens, or entities that fall into both brackets. Centre for Thriving Places is proud to be a part of Reclaiming our Regional Economies (RORE), a multi-year programme alongside CLES – the National Organisation for Local Economies, Co-operatives UK, and the New Economics Foundation. Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, Friends Provident Foundation, the Barrow Cadbury Trust and Power to Change, RORE connects communities with political and institutional leaders to build economies where people and places can thrive.
